Independent’s Day is maybe the most brazen Asylum title theft movie to date. It’s virtually impossible to distinguish from Independence Day when you’re saying it out loud. I had high hopes for this one, mostly because it was regular Asylum cinematographer Laura Beth Love’s first time in the director’s chair. Unfortunately the whole thing is a convoluted mess. The visual are pretty good for one of these things, but they’re not enough to save it from the completely nonsensical story. Having said though though, I’ve seen this at least three times; I still haven’t got around to watching Independence Day: Resurgence.
